Frilford Heath is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) a few miles to the West of Abingdon. Managed by Natural England, the Abingdon Green Gym have been working in this area for several years, and since 2013 on 2 areas of fenland on the Golf Club site.
The Green Gym is involved in tasks that endeavour to support this unique habitat, with reed raking the primary focus at this location.
The meeting point for the Frilford Heath Golf Club is at the Green Keepers compound which is off Abingdon Road near it’s junction with the A338.
